Raise Funds
Hope Walks is dedicated to sending 100% of proceeds from Walk donations to the Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Programs with whom we partner.
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple!
- Register for a Walk in your area.
-
Create an online fundraising page. Personalize your page, set a realistic but challenging fundraising target ($100, $300, $500) and send your page to family and friends so they can sponsor you directly using a credit card online. (It's safe and secure through our partner FirstGiving.)
- Spread the word about how you're helping orphans and vulnerable children by raising funds. Refer people back to Hope Walks to learn more.
I have never raised money for a cause before, is it hard?
Raising funds is easier than you may think.
First, remember that you're not raising money for yourself! You are raising money to help children who are without a solid family support system to guide or care for them.
Second, make a list of your family members, friends, classmates, and colleagues. The chances are that they are going to be interested in what you're passionate about and how you are making a difference by participating in Hope Walks. Learn as much as you can about the program you're helping to support and tell them about the change you're trying to create!
Third, ask people if they want to help you make a difference! Education is powerful - once you start to talk about the children you're helping, others will want to be involved.
Why does Hope Walks ask registrants to raise funds?
Walk registrants are asked to fundraise because registration fees pay for the cost of the Walk. Hope Walks works closely with co-sponsors of the Walk to keep those costs as low as possible.
For this reason, it is important that registrants raise money to support the children and specific projects of the OVC Programs. The registration fees make it possible for us to come together for the Walk. The funds you raise make the much needed support for orphans and vulnerable children a reality.
