Walk with us and raise funds to support the Mercy Fund: Children's AIDS Programin the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This program, designed to test and treat children with HIV was founded by Global Strategies in 2006.  The program is based at HEAL Africa in the city of Goma.

The program has 700 children enrolled and is operated by Dr. Vindu Vyolo and her nursing staff.  Hope Walks Minneapolis will raise funds to support the purchase of medications to treat opportunistic infection, nutrition, and medical staff salaries.

Walk Details

The walk takes place on Sunday, June 19, 2011.  More details to come!

You don't want to miss this fun event  - the walk is a scenic one mile route in the surrounding neighborhood of Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina. The walk is accessible to all ages and abilities.

Fun and educational post-walk activities for young and old will be sponsored by Christ Presbyterian Church small groups and ministries to learn more about the lives of vulnerable children in Goma, DR Congo.

Route is wheelchair and stroller friendly. Walk will take place rain or shine. No pets at the event, please (except service dogs).

Christ Presbyterian Church is passionate about loving the poor and forgotten of the world. Over the last few years we have developed a partnership with HEAL Africa in the eastern Congo, a part of the world that has been devastated by war, natural disasters, poverty, and AIDS. It is through this partnership with Global Strategies and HEAL Africa, and the various programs they offer, that we have been able to develop relationships with the orphans and vulnerable children of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
